Collection: Rhipsalis Cactus
Rhipsalis
Rhipsalis are unique epiphytic jungle cacti that thrive in the tropical forests under the canopy of trees. Unlike typical desert cacti that enjoy heat, direct sunlight, and minimal rainfall, these cacti prefer warm, bright, indirect light.
These jungle cacti produce small hair-like roots that absorb water and nutrients from the air, allowing them to climb and attach to surfaces. Their stems may branch frequently or be flattened, while their spines can be hair-like and delicate. Some varieties may even flower and produce pea-sized berries.
Grown for their lush, green foliage, Rhipsalis are ideal for hanging pots and make excellent houseplants in windows with filtered light. They are winter dormant, with growth occurring during the warmer weather, and are hardy to Zone 10.
